Races of Myra - Part 6 - L-O
L/M
Mimesen A small folk of humanoid plant-beings, with a size of roughly a Jadener. The sages say they are able to speak the Common Tongue it taught properly. More importantly, however, they can change their appearance and shape into another plant of roughly their size, in oder to blend with the surroundings. They are related to the Mandagora-women in the Ophis-world of the witches, at the witch-star in the ultimate Ophis. See also: [ Fairies and Elves ] Player race: Yes (Single adventurer only) / Role-play race: Yes*
N/O
OEga Huge warriers, just a bit short of being regarded as Tauren giants, they are about 1 1/2 as high as average humans, of stocky build and sporting two or even three heads. Their home area is the Bloody Belt, the aequatorial region in the Ophis, but some might be seen in the Monstrous Mountains, a sinister range of mountains between the slave-trading nation of Ataris and the Green Sea of Karcanon. Usually they are solitary creatures and are known to be man-eaters. Player race: Yes (Near the Bloody Belt) / Role-play race: No*Yes
Oldar The nation of Sea-Elves, the chosen people of the light sea-god Norytton, the wave-rider. With a height of about five feet they ride on the backs of dolphins and large seahorses across the waves of the Dolphin-Sea on Yhllgord, around Morassan, and through the Fulmar-Sea. The can easily spend days underwater, but not months without taking in some fresh over water air. The Older were famous for their control of sea-magic - therefore they are considered the only really opponents of the Kuor-Toas, against whom the Tritons (or Okeazar) come empty-handed. A smaller group of Oldar lives near Tronja on Karnicon and in the entourage of Vargas of Tronja, who is said to be the current avatar of Norytton. Player race: Yes (Morassan/Yhllgord, Tronja/Karnicon or as Adventurers) / Role-play race: Yes* (near the sea only)

Races of Myra - Part 5 - I-K
I/J
Jadener A small folk of pixie-like humanoid beings, with a size of roughly two spread hands high. The sages count them among the Fairies and Elves, even though they are not known to posess or perform any magic. They have a great empathy for smaller animals, on which some of them are riding. The only known wandering adventurer of this secretive small falk, outside of their hidden homeland Jadena on one of the islands of the continent Ysatinga, is Irka, who was seen at the Eye of the Sea, between Gra-Tha N'My and Rhyandi. See also: [ Fairies and Elves ] Player race: Yes (only Jadena/Ysatinga and as single adventurer) / Role-play race: No* (Ysatinga possibly)
Januffen Also called tree-cats. A humanoid race of furry creatures, some of which have colourful behinds. Usuallly they are peaceful, unless someone disturbs the peace of the holy trees which they live in or guard, the Trees of Life or Gischogan. Because of their abilities in climbing trees, large amounts of Januffen (or Jannuffs) are used as slaves by the Tauren, the strong chaotic giants, for harvesting from trees. Related to the Januffen, who are at home in the kingdom of Leone on Rodebran, are the Bongoles of Uro-Lianis (see picture) and the Boconer of Cry-Las-Sin in the former jungle of Samboco on Gwynddor. Player race: Yes (on Rodebran and as single adventurer) / Role-play race: Yes
K
Kaezinnen
Rather small cat-humans, living in villages like humans, Kaezinnen seem like human girls with cat fur and cat-tail. As with dwarves where noone ever sees a female dwarf, no male Kaezin has been seen yet in the outside world. Kaezinnen combine their size of only four to five feet height with a patent dislike for fighting, which is why they tend to go for a Aborgino as a male protector. Their home region is the Golden River in the Bloody Belt, in the Ophis of Nykerien mostly, but single Kaezinnen have been caught and sold off as female slaves for rich humans. By themselves they will only accept the strongest ones as mates and masters. (My132) Player race: Yes (Nykerien and as single adventurer) / Role-play race: Yes (near the Bloody Belt or in important slave-trader nations)
Katary
The Katary, the Volcano-Elves of Silur in the Machairas sea of Karcanon, are descendants of Sandro Sturmfackel (Sandro Flamingtorch), an Eldar from the Golden Age, who was changed by the Dark Elf Marlytha, who was really the Spider-Goddess Marlilith. After a tragic event, Sandro and his people were banished from company of all other elves, who cut all contact with the Katary, "the Burning Ones". The Katary live together with the Lava Children on and in the volcanic mountains of the Bel-Arad on Silur. (The picture shows Laraia Flammenberg, a Katary who 423 nP lived at the shores of the Green Sea. Copyright Maryanne Mab English-Betie, Used with Permission.)) [ Special Katary page upcoming ] - See also: [ Faeries and Elves ] Player race: Yes (Karcanon, Karnicon and as single adventurer) / Role-play race: Yes (usually Karcanon)
Khoy
Their shining skin, which looks like it has been blackened with ashes, is not the only feature that makes these massive stocky warriors stand out. Most striking is their translucent shimmering scales they have as body-armour, which suits them like a second skin. Their hair is shaven except for a sickel-shaped strip from the middle of their forehead to their neck. Where humans would have hair, the Khoy have bright red ornaments all over their heads up to the forehead and covering the temples. The most remarkable feature of their faces are the scarred bubonic lumps over their noses, where something is moving under the thin skin, which looks like little bugs. Flame-swords, which split in the middle to have two points, are their favourite weapons, and an arm-long bent throwing knife which returns to their hands if it misses its aim, like a throwing wood from Kelani. After their death, the Khoy dry and wither away. Only other Khoy know the secret of the lotions which need to be apllied for a proper earth-burial to send them to afterlife. If a Khoy wasn't prepared for death and no other Khoy is present to help and apply the ointment, the body of a dead Khoy turnes into dust in a matter of only a few hours or less, depending on the circumstances. Player race: Yes (Nykerien and as single adventurer) / Role-play race: Yes (near the Bloody Belt or in important slave-trader nations)
Kuor
Originally sea-dwellers, the Kuor, the chosen people of the toad-god Kuor-Tulmak, despite their humanoid appearance are more sea-lizards than mermen. Alongside the Okeazar and the Tritons of Selavan, the Kuor are the third large race in the seas of Myra. Parts of the Kuor went to the coasts and formed nations on the land, ever fearful of their supreme goddess, the Black Mother or Sea-Witch, Avatar of the Supreme Darkness. Land-dwelling Kuor are called Kuor-Bold (or Ko-Bolds), and they are most frequent around the island kingdom of Dirhael on Karcanon. They should not be mistaken with the Kobolds of Zakopane on Zhaketia (see here). The highly potent magic-using sea-Kuor are called Kuor-Toas and are known to have their realms on Zhaketia, Yhllgord and Corigani, but can be found to be a surprising danger in any deep sea area on Myra . Player race: Yes (Any underwater) / Role-play race: Yes (Land-Kuor, Kuor-Bolds)

Just trying to help translating :-) (I hope I won't make too many mistakes ;-))
Races of Myra - Part 4 - F-H F
Faey A crossbreed between Eldar and the humans that had one of the twelve Sisters of Virtue as gossip or even mother. They appear as especially beautiful, mostly light-skinned,blond and slender women which rarely use magic and never use weapons but they are masters in unarmed combat. They live in Aegyrland on Yhllgord and in few druid forests. Sometimes the Sister's of Virtue themselves are called Faey. (read more about them in the upcoming special article on fairies and elf-like folks) Player race: Yes (on Feenor/Yhllgord and as single adventurer) / Role-play race: Yes (usually Yhllgord)
Fishheads Other name for Selavaner, humanoids with fish-like heads, which live at the bootom of the coreganian sea in their city Danuviapon, reigned by King Kor. There is the theory that they were human once that were magically bound to fishheads. It is known that they came from the witchworld of the Ophis. Player race: Yes (on Selavan/Corigani and as single adventurer) / Role-play race: No*
GGomorrer A humanoid crossbreed made by alchemists out of orcs and lizard people. They have lots of combat strength and endurance. Depending on their mix ratio they are more intelligent the more lizard people is in them and stronger the more orc is in. They worship the demon Gor-Orkon and are rather dark shamans than magicians. Player race: Yes (on Chi-Tai-Peh/Ysatinga and as single adventurer) / Role-play race: Yes (usually Ysatinga)
HHaryien Hybrids, halb woman, half bird, that came out of the Bloody Belt, the former ShadowZone. They combine intelligence with strength and community spirit with a strong will to survive. As they developed from Amazons, they are materialistically oriented and live in haryienhives. Although they are regarded as being female they are hermaphrodits and only the nominal ruler of the hive, the Haryion, is said to be male. Haryien are neutral warriors who can only do magic in groups. Some warriors leave their hive to live thair lives as mercenaries or something similar. Their godddes is Pottundy, cruel goddess of the jungle. Player race: Yes (near the Bloody Belt and as single adventurer) / Role-play race: Yes
Hengster Hybrids, half human, half horse, mostly with a human upper body on a horse body but there are many other appearances. They came from the Bloody Belt, the former ShadowZone, before they moved to the Prepararbajo Forest where they once had a strong empire. Now they nearly extinct. It seems that they have been a people of predators: At the beginning of the dark age a hengster named Caronj was known in Aegyrland. The pfader (See explanation when "Races of Myra" P is translated) considered him to be an unscrupulous robber. And another hengster accompanied by a druid is said to have been attacking caravans in Cubanar. [More about hengster in German language] Player race: Yes (as single adventurer) / Role-play race: Yes

Time to get more of the Myra basics out to you, in order to get you aquainted with this world - and get you writing and drawing and painting about it :) So here you are with
Races of Myra - Part 3 - E
E
Eldar
The High-Elves of Myra. Most of those Eldar who survived the battle of Pondaron over 400 years ago, went to the Valley of Life somewhere on Kezunsea afterwards, where Dragons and Unicorns, both all but extinct in the rest of the world, still are rumoured to roam freely. They are fair-skinned, nearly pale, and tall, usually rather slender than stocky. (read more about them in the upcoming special article on fairies and elf-like folks) Player race: Yes (on Karcanon and as single adventurer) / Role-play race: Yes (usually Karcanon)
Elven
The Elven are a race of noble giants, predecessors of the fairies and elves, who got smaller of the myriads of years. They always were the sworn enemies of the Tauren, but only a few single individuals of the Elven are said to still live today, on the Gorganic continent. (My118). (read more about them in the upcoming special article on fairies and elf-like folks) Player race: No* / Role-play race: No* / Individual NPCs possible in stories set in the past
Eyaresheth
Only in running waters do the Eyaresheth live. They are humanoid fish-like creatures, who have innate magical abilities but do not use, leran (or teach) spells. Indeed as far as we know, they are not capable of human speech at all. A colony of Eyaresheth is know to live in the land of Dyvenloon on the continent of Gwynddor, in the small rivers and large streams running through that magical forest which is blessed by the tree-blossom goddess, Jaffna. Player race: Yes (on Gwynddor) / Role-play race: No*
Eysgiants
Eysgiants inhabit, as far as we know, the whole Icy Band, that large realm of eternal ice which stretches between the continents of Karnicon and Ysatinga on the one side and between Rodebran and Zhaketia on the other side. They are decendants of the Tauren and formed a nation under king Caltryn. Their size is described as being ten to twenty feet high, their equipment as being more furs than armour. Evil and undead Eys-giants are to be found in K'ayra Matra under the control of Lyr A'Krae, a favourite of Xnum, the god of Necromancers. Player race: Yes (on Karnicon and Ysatinga) / Role-play race: No*
Eytas
A people of demigods like the Aegyr. They were set up by the gods of the pantheon to be arbiters between the male and female principles of male and female, Gorgan and Vanga, Man and Yr, but they were seduced by the Dark Six, the deities of darkness. Many of the Eytas fell for the dark side and became what we nowadays call demons, the demons of the ShadowZone. The remaining Eytas were fighting all the more for the side of light and life. They were the guardians of the first chapter of the BDA, the "book of nightmares". They are DreamKeepers now. One of the famous Eytas of history is Zhan, who raised RaonAcum with the Seven. Player race: Yes (Wandering adventurers only) / Role-play race: Yes*

| The people of the Kingdom of Zakopane – The kobolds |
[Nov. 9th, 2005|10:19 pm] |
Little Kobold writes: (in the MyraForum) We, the kobolds, like to live secretly on our own. But in the last months more and more rumours and disbelieves and wrong information spread around in the world. In the typical telepathic way of communication we discussed the situation between us, who are living at Zhaketia, and our sisters and brothers, who are living in other times and worlds. Finally, we agreed that we cannot keep silent anymore. At least some of our secrets have already been revealed by the kobolds that are travelling in the parts of Myra that are called Zhaketia. So it will not hurt ourselves if we correspond these to a greater audiance, so that the spread of false information about us will stop.
It is a common misbelief that our people belongs to the very similar sounding people of the Kuor that came out of the sea to live on land and who are called Kuor-Bolds, nor are we gnomes or have dirty noses and there just over a 100,000 of us living on Myra, not much too many. However, it is true that we tend to stick our little noses everywhere where there is magic around. Magic plays a central part in our lives and it is therefore not astonishing that we like to learn as much as we can about it. Obviously not every wizard, witch, magican or shamane likes to share his secrets – we also do not like to share our knowledge of magical powers and rituals - so we have to spy on them, often to their dislike if they find out, which is rarely the case.
But what kind of creature to you have to imagine if I am speaking about us kobolds ? We are about 6 to 8 cm tall, have a green leathery skin, four fingers on each of our two hands with long sharp fingernails, and four toes with long sharp toenails on our two feet, which are cover with curled hairs. Our body is rather skinny and the neck short. The head is more wide than tall and has two very flexible long bat-like pointed ears with hairs on the top and a short pointed nose. Usually we have long beards reaching almost the bottom while the rest of our head is almost bold. The eyes are reddish but there are also kobolds who can change the eyecolour at will, while others change their eyecolour with their emotions.
We like to make jokes and play tricks on someone else, especially humans, elves and dwarves. For these we like to use illusions and other magic, but we normally do not harm people with our magic unless we are forced to do so. In these cases we tend to use powerful magic which is often called dark magic from untalented wizards who are just jealous about our high abilities and skills in practicing magic. A common misbelief is that we rob children to raise them – why should we do such a stupid thing, they are much too stupid to be able to learn our high kind of magic. However, it is true that we are afraid of rabbits, but I will not tell you for what reason.
All kobolds have been created by Byton (the kobold name of the god known as Kuor-Tulmak at Karcanon) out of the pure chaotic material that has been in the universe before the worlds were made. Kuor-Tulmak was forced by Chnum to change this material into the elements that now form our world. But the less chaos there was the weaker Byton became, so he decided to create a hidden sphaere, named Istaridor, where he created the kobolds out of the pure essence of chaos as his people to save the chaos and bring it back to the world. Chnum not knowing that there was already a people created by Byton later allowed him is own people on Myra and he formed the Kuor to live in the seas. Later he opened a gate from Istaridor to the world of Ascar – a world in the same universe as Myra with many of the people that also lived on Myra but which was less observed by the gods as Myra was – so that the kobolds learnt and grew. However, the world of Ascar is now dying and Byton rescued a hundred thousand kobolds to Zhaketia, who are now a powerful magical race, strong enough to live on their own under the noses of the other deities. But there are still more kobolds living in the secret sphaere of Istaridor. And when the day comes and Byton - who has been banned from Myra after he lead the dark deities in the war of the dark against the light deities and lst the war because of envy, grudge and betrayal - returns to power he will open the gates to Istaridor allowing the kobolds to travel freely between their chaotic sphaere Istaridor that their call their home and Myra, the world which is so exciting in all their magical aspects.
And the kobolds join him when HE takes revenge for all he had to endure in his exile...
Iras Cignavojo adds: I aknowledge that there obviously are Kobolds who refute any relation to the Kuor-Bold, just like there are small folk, the Jadener, who refute any family relationship to pixies, sprites and fairies or other little folk - who in turn firmly believe the folk of Jadena to be obviously lost cousins.
The same might hold true here. While the kobolds of Zhaketia might not be aware of that, there are large populations of Kuor, both Kuor-Bold and Kuor-Toas, who see Kuor-Tulmak as exclusivly their own god, and Kuor-Bold as the traditional name for those humanoids who are land-dwellers callled kobolds by many humans. For example on Karcanon - which for a long time was the only part of Myra where Kobolds lived in a recognizable number. Kobolds are Kuor-Bold for many, including the Kuor themselves. That may be different elsewhere and with other folks, ans I value the comment that there are people (or kobolds) who see it differently. |

B
Bizarre
A special lifeform like no other on Myra: Crystaline beings who, if single, have a roughly humanoid shape, but usually like to be together as one big unified entity. The Bizarre can form weapons from their bodies, like the crystal javelins they throw. Their home territory is the Crystal Mountains near the Bloody Belt in the Ophis of Gwynddor. Player race: Yes (in the Ophis of Gwynddor) / Roleplay-race: No
Bongolen
A special race of tree-catpeople, related to the Januffen and Kaezinnen, at home in the country Uro-Lianis on Gwynddor. (can be described a bit like bonobos or orang utans) Player-race: Yes (on Gwynddor) / Roleplay-race: Yes (on Gwynddor)
Burundi
Humanoid canibals, about 7 feet high, easily recognizable by their colourful and threatening tatoos all over their bodies, which often represent their totem spirit in symbolic form. As far as is known the Burundi are only at home in the Pottuvil-jungle in the Diktyon of the continent Karcanons, They are the chosen people of Pottundy. Player-race: Yes (on Karcanon) / Roleplay-race: No*
The Chran are a people who were created by Artan and Grewia (Ildru) as catlike beings of about seven feet high. Hand and feet have claws. Nearly all of them have a silky black fur - only the five leaders of the Chran, the Larks, are white-furred and even bigger than the rest of their people. The five Larks are closest to Artan and are rulers and high-priests at the same time. The live hidden unter Corigani, a neighbour-continent of Karcanon, and wait for the day of their destiny, when they have to awake again and fight against the spiders of the prime evil goddess, Marlilith.

Races of Myra - Part 1 - A

Aasen
The Aasen are to the witchworld of the Ophis what the Trolls are to the warriorworld of Myra's Machairas. They have excellent mastery of white magic which is aa reason why witches and witch-queens like to have them as servants and magical helpers. About 80%, we assume, are able to wield Greater Magick, the remaining 20% only work minor magic from level 1 to level 3. Their size is nearly four feet with the stature of a ten year old boy. Their skin is a pale olive green and gets more intense with the years. Their traditional clothing is of dark green colour and consists of tights and long undergarment with a belt around the waist. The head is covered by a phrygian cap (like the jacobites had in the french revolution) which leaves the face open. Many witches see and treat them as genderless, but there are males and females, and couples like Lankohr and Heeva. Three examples: Lankohr was a young Aase from the area of witch-queen Zonda, who as an exeption from his kind only knew minor cantrips, but decided to become a companion to the hero Mythor, the Son of the Comet. Vangard was a very powerful Aase, traveling the world of Machairas on behalf of witch-queen Zuma, and when he met Mythor at the Tillorn Colossus, had been travelling through Gwynddor and adapted clothing and habits of the warrior world. Old Aasen have thin white hair, much as humans do, and a weather-beaten wrinkled face. Aase Hermon, example No.3, wasn't servant but partner of a witch, exeptionally strong, he made a deal with the demigod Orphal and out of this developped the Hermexe, a magical storage object with unlimited space, as the inside is extended into the Inner World of Myra. Player-Race: Yes (as adventurers, not as a nation), Roleplay-Race: Yes
Abstruse
A race of Monsters at the Bloody Band, the former ShadowZone, especially in the far Ophis of Gwynddor. Genetically changed through the dark magical influence of the ShadowZone, bodily and mentally deformed. Different humanoids with animal elements are possible, like furry humans with the head of a jackal and hands like a crab. In some countries they're called Mongrel, in Dyvenloon they're called Djann.
Player-Race: No (only armies) / Roleplay-Race: No* (exceptions might be made)
Aegyr
A race of highly intelligent humanoids, who from their ancestry see themselves as demigods. Their forefather was Oedon, one-time avatar of Chnum-Ephedemos, together with a Denaid. For many of their long-lived generations this magical race they provided the 'highest priests', the worldly representations of most deities. Their outward appearance is indestinguishable from humans, but as a race the Aegyr, who's home was hidden on the small island of Aegyrland on Yhllgord, have all but vanished from Myra today. Player-Race: Yes (as adventurers, not as a nation), Roleplay-Race: Yes
Aldar
One of the great nations of elves on Myra, since the time of the Great Divide at the Golden Lake. The term is used generally for all forest- and woodelves and especially for those in the great woodland of Aldaron on the continent of Corigani. Until the great battle of Pondaron, 425 years ago now, they lived in the forests of Asarinan, but on the way to there as well as on the way from there to Aldaron many groups and individuals split from the nation to go their own ways. It is told, for example, that there also is a small population of woodelves in the Machairas of Titanik on Ysatinga. Player-Race: Yes, Roleplay-Race: Yes
